Add or Edit User screen details

User access to resources is determined by the role assigned to them.

Screen component Description

Login name

User unique identifier name. The login name must start with an alphabetic character and can contain only alphanumeric characters and the underscore (_) and dash (-) characters.

Data type:

A maximum of 39 characters

Full name

First and last name of the user

Data type:

A maximum of 39 characters

Full name can contain only letters, digits, and space, underscore (_), dash (-), apostrophe ('), and period (.) characters.

Initial password

User password

Data type:

A minimum of 8 characters, maximum of 40 characters

The password must not contain any of the following characters: less than (<), greater than (>), semicolon (;), comma (,), double-quotation mark ("), apostrophe ('), ampersand (&), backslash (\), slash (/), vertical bar (|), plus sign (+), colon (:), equal sign (=), and space

Role

Privileges assigned to the user

Email

Email address of the user

Data type:

The local name and the domain name must not exceed 64 characters.

The local name, to the left of the at sign (@), must begin with an alphanumeric character and consist of uppercase and lowercase alphabetic characters, numeric characters, exclamation point (!), pound sign (#), dollar sign ($), percent sign (%), ampersand (&), apostrophe ('), asterisk (*), plus sign (+), hyphen (-), slash (/), equal sign (=), question mark (?), caret (^), underscore (_), backquote (`), left and right braces ({ }), vertical bar (|), period (.), and tilde (~).

The domain name consists of alphanumeric characters, period (.), and hyphen (-). Alphabetic characters are case insensitive.

Office phone

Office phone number of the user

Data type:

A maximum of 25 alphanumeric characters. The phone number should not contain any of the following: quotes ("), apostrophe ('), ampersand (&), equal sign (=), left angle bracket (<), or right angle bracket (>).

Mobile phone

Mobile phone number of the user

Add/Edit Directory Group screen details

Screen component	Description
Directory	The name of the directory service that authenticates logins.
Group name	The name of the group to be added.
Select group	Opens a dialog box that lets you log into the Directory service server and locate the group.
User name and Password	The credentials of the authentication directory service administrator account that enable the appliance to log in to the directory server and validate the connection.
Role	Allows you to assign user roles to all the members of the group. For a description of the roles, see About user roles.
