General

Server model

The server model name is generated automatically when the server hardware type is detected or created by the appliance.

Form factor

A description of the physical form of the server. A server can be either full-height or half-height.

Rack servers are measured in rack units (U), for example, a DL360 has a form factor of 1U.

Description

A description of the server hardware type that you create. If you did not add a description, the description is none.

Used by

The instances of server hardware or server profiles associated with the server hardware type. Click the hyperlink to view the servers or server profiles associated with the server hardware type.

Name of the I/O adapter and slot number in which the adapter is installed

Model of the I/O adapter

Connection type of the I/O adapter

Edit Server Hardware Types

Name

The name is generated automatically when the server hardware type is detected or created by the appliance. You can edit the default appliance-generated name.

Each server hardware type name has a unique number appended to distinguish between server models with different connectivity.

Default:

The server hardware name and a number starting at 1

Data type:

A maximum of 225 alphanumeric characters, including spaces

Description

A description of the server hardware type. You can add information about the server hardware type to help differentiate the various types.

Data type:

A maximum of 225 alphanumeric characters, including spaces and the following special characters: hyphen (-), period (.), underscore (_), and tilde (~)
