Add a storage system

To add a storage system and bring it under management of the appliance, provide its IP address or host name and its credentials.

NOTE: After you select a domain for a storage system, you cannot select a different domain without removing the storage system and adding it again. An HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage system can be configured without a domain, in which case, NO DOMAIN is displayed in the Domain field.

Prerequisites

  • Required privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Storage administrator.

  • Storage system is powered on, configured, and WSAPI service is enabled.

  • For HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage systems, a minimum user role of Edit is required for all domains of the storage system. The basic_edit role is not sufficient.

Adding a storage system

  1. From the main menu, select Storage Systems, and do one of the following:

    • Click + Add storage system in the master pane.

    • Select Actions→Add.

    NOTE: The Actions menu is not present until you add at least one storage system.

  2. Enter the data requested on the screen.

  3. Click Add to complete the action or click Add + to add another storage system.

  4. Verify the storage system was added in the master pane.
