Ping a host name or IP address

Use this procedure to determine if a target, identified by its host name or IP address, can be reached.

Prerequisites 

  • Fully qualified domain name or IP address to reach.

Pinging a host name or IP address

  1. From the main menu, navigate to the Settings screen.

  2. Click Networking in the Networking panel.

  3. Select Actions→Ping.

    The Ping screen opens.

  4. Enter either the target host name or IP address, then click Ping.

  5. Read the output in the Results field.

  6. Click Close to stop pinging and to close the screen.
