Enable or disable services access

You can configure the appliance to allow or deny access by an authorized support representative.

IMPORTANT: HPE OneView contains a technical feature that will allow an on-site authorized support representative to access your system, through the system console, to assess problems that you have reported. This access will be controlled by a password generated by Hewlett Packard Enterprise that will only be provided to the authorized support representative. You can disable access at any time while the system is running. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you enable service console access so that an authorized support representative can diagnose your system in the event of a a system failure.


Prerequisites 

  • Minimum required privileges: Infrastructure administrator

Enabling or disabling service console access

  1. From the main menu, select Settings.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • In the Security panel, click .

    • Click Security and then select ActionsEdit.

    The Edit Security screen opens.

  3. From the Authentication portion, locate Service console access and select the appropriate option:

    • Select Enabled if you want to allow an authorized support representative to access your appliance.

    • Select Disabled if you want to deny an authorized support representative access to your appliance.

      Read the Warning carefully.

  4. Click OK.

    The Security screen opens.

  5. Verify that the setting you entered is shown on the screen.
