Power off a server

Prerequisites

From the main menu, do one of the following:


	NOTE: To run this action on more than one object, use the Shift or Ctrl keys to select multiple objects in the master pane. For more information, see Performing an action on multiple resources

Select Actions→Power off.
In the Power off dialog box, do one of the following:
- Click Momentary press to perform a normal (soft) power off, where the device is shut down in an orderly sequence
- Click Press and hold to perform an immediate (hard) shutdown
  
  NOTE: Powering off with Press and hold risks corrupting server information. This could include environment variables, serial number, and product number.
To verify that the activity is successful, check the activity for a green status in the Notifications area.

If the activity is not successful, follow the instructions in the proposed resolution.


	NOTE: Powering off a server can take several minutes. A confirmation message is displayed once the server is powered off.
