Assign a resource to a scope

Use this procedure to assign a resource to a scope from the Scopes page. To assign a resource to a scope from a resource page, see Assign a resource to a scope from a resource page

Prerequisites

Assigning a resource to a scope

From the main menu, click Settings, and then in the Scopes panel, click Scopes to access the Scopes page.
Select the scope to edit from the list of scopes in the master pane of the Scopes page.
Select Actions→Edit.

The Edit Scope screen opens.
Click Add Resources to open the Add Resources to Scope screen.
Enter a Resource category or select from a menu of categories by using the search icon ().
Click a resource displayed in the Name field to select it.

To select multiple resources, hold down the Ctrl key while you select the resources.
Click Add to add the resource and to return to the Edit Scope screen or click Add+ to continue adding resources from the same category or to select a different category.

NOTE: Selected resources are added only after clicking Add or Add+. Your selected resources will not be added if you choose another category before clicking Add or Add+.
Click OK in the Edit Scope screen.
Verify this operation by observing the number of resources for the scope on the Scopes page.

You can also verify the operation by looking at the Update Resource Assignments task, which contains a subtask for each resource assigned or unassigned from the scope. The subtask status indicates if the change was successfully applied for that resource.
