SAN Managers screen details

If no resources are listed, you must add a resource. See Add a SAN manager.

General

The details available in the General view depend on the SAN Manager type.

Screen component	Description
All SAN managers
SAN manager type	Type of SAN manager; can be `Brocade Network Advisor`, `Cisco`, or `HPE`.
State	State of the SAN manager; `Managed` or `Unknown`.
Version	Version of the SAN manager software.
Used by	The number of SANs used by the SAN manager. The number is a link to a filtered view of those SANs on the SANs screen.
HPE and Cisco SAN managers
Description	The model name of the SAN manager.
SNMP Port	Port on which the switch listens for SNMP requests. The default port is 161.
SNMP user name	SNMPv3 user name for accessing the SAN manager.
Security level	The SNMP security level setting on the SAN manager; can be `Authentication`, `Authentication and privacy`, or `None` (HPE SAN managers only)
Authentication protocol	The authentication protocol setting on the SAN manager; can be `SHA` or `MD5`.
Privacy protocol	The privacy protocol setting on the SAN manager; can be `DES-56`, `AES-128`, or `3DES` (HPE SAN managers only).
Brocade Network Advisor SAN managers
Port	SSL port of the SAN manager.
User name	User name for accessing the SAN manager.
Use SSL	Specify whether the SAN manager uses SSL; can be `Yes` or `No`.

Add or Edit a SAN Manager screen details

The options for adding and editing a SAN manager depend on the SAN manager type. The available types are:

HPE or Cisco SAN manager

Brocade Network Advisor (BNA) SAN manager

HPE or Cisco SAN manager


	NOTE: A SAN manager must be properly configured before you can add it to HPE OneView for management. See Configuring SAN managers to be managed by HPE OneView for more information.

SAN manager type

HPE or Cisco

General

IP address or host name

Host name or IP address of the SAN manager.

SNMP

Port

Port on which the SAN manager listens for SNMP requests. The default port is 161.

User name

User name set on the SAN manager for managing SNMP.

Security level

The SNMP security level set on the SAN manager:

`Authentication`	Encryption type set on the SAN manager, can be `SHA` or `MD5`.
`Authentication and privacy`	Authentication encryption type and privacy password set on the SAN manager.
`None` (HPE SAN managers only)	No SNMP security is set on the SAN manager.

Authentication protocol

The authentication protocol set on the SAN manager; can be SHA or MD5.

Authentication password

The authentication password set on the SAN manager.

Privacy protocol (Authentication and privacy security level only)

The privacy protocol set on the SAN manager (For Authentication and privacy security levels); can be DES-56, AES-128, or 3DES (HPE SAN managers only).

Privacy password (Authentication and privacy security level only)

The privacy password set on the SAN manager (For Authentication and privacy security levels).

Brocade Network Advisor (BNA) SAN manager

General

IP address or host name	Host name or IP address of the SAN manager.
Port	Port on which Brocade Network Advisor's SMI Agent is listening. The Brocade Network Advisor defaults are 5989 for SSL and 5988 for non-SSL.
Use SSL	Specify whether the SAN manager uses SSL; can be `Yes` or `No`.

Credentials

User name	User name for accessing the SAN manager.
Password	Password associated with the user name for accessing the SAN manager.
