Using the Racks screen, you can edit the properties of a rack (name, thermal limit, serial number, and dimensions) and the layout of the devices in the rack. To edit your rack layout, see Change the layout of devices in a rack.

NOTE: Do not edit the Name value of racks discovered when you added an enclosure, the enclosure OA specifies the rack name. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends you change the name of these racks using the enclosure OA. See Change the name of a rack for more information. If you change the name of a rack that has its name defined by the enclosure OA, the name will revert the next time the appliance reads the SCMB (State-Change Message Bus). |

Editing the properties of a rack

From the main menu, select Racks, and do one of the following:

In the master pane, select the rack you want to edit and select Actions→Edit.

Hover your pointer in the details pane and click the Edit icon.

Edit the values shown on the screen. See Add or edit a rack if you need assistance with your entries.
NOTE: Location is
not setuntil you add the rack to a data center.

Verify that your changes have been made in the details pane.
