Update the profile configuration from the server profile template

You can use Update from template to update the configuration of the server profile to match its parent server profile template. See also About server profile consistency validation.

Prerequisites

Required privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

Updating the profile configuration from the server profile template

To bring an inconsistent (Inconsistent with template) server profile configuration back into consistency (Consistent) with the server profile template, you must reapply the settings from the server profile template.

From the main menu, select Server Profiles.

Select Actions→Update from template.

A dialog box opens.


	NOTE: The Update from template option is not available if the server profile template and server profile are already compliant (Consistency state field is `Consistent`) and/or if the server profile is not associated with a server profile template.

Notice the changes that must be made manually to make the profile consistent with the template, if any.
Confirm that you want HPE OneView to update remaining inconsistencies.

NOTE: If any of the automatic updates require that you power off the server, you must do so to allow the updates to continue. See Power off a server.
- If the Yes, update button displays, click Yes to confirm that the automatic part of the update can proceed.
- If the Yes, update button does not display, you must click Close, power off the server, and repeat the steps of the procedure.
Make any manual changes.

Consistency alerts are cleared automatically and settings now match the server profile template.
View the server profile details and verify that the expected details have changed.
