| Power delivery device | Description |
|---|---|
| iPDU |
An HPE Intelligent Power Distribution Unit provides input power and multiple outputs to load segments with tracking, locator lights, and power control. You can assign multiple iPDUs to a rack to provide redundant connections to create a high availability system. The appliance automatically discovers iPDUs. |
| Power Feed |
A top-level source of power from the data center facility into the power infrastructure observable through power management systems. A Power Feed has no tracking or controls; you must create it manually and add it to the power topology. |
| Breaker Panel |
The group of breakers on a single breaker panel. A Breaker Panel has no tracking or controls; you must create it manually and add it to the power topology. |
| Branch Circuit |
A single power output of a breaker panel. A Branch Circuit has no tracking or controls; you must create it manually and add it to the power topology. |
| Rack PDU |
The input power and multiple outputs to load segments for any PDU other than an iPDU. You can assign multiple PDUs to a rack to provide redundant connections in order to create a high availability system. Rack PDUs have no tracking or controls; you must create it manually and add it to the power topology. |
| Load Segment/Power Strip |
The generic outputs of the PDU without tracking or control. Load Segments and power strips have no tracking or controls; you must create them manually and add them to the power topology. |
| HPE iPDU Load Segment |
The outputs of the PDU that the appliance can track and control using the iPDU management module. The appliance automatically discovers iPDU Load Segments. |
| HPE AC Module |
The outputs of the iPDU that connects into a BladeSystem enclosure that supports HPE Power Discovery Services. The appliance can track and control it using the iPDU management module. The appliance automatically discovers it along with the connection to the attached enclosure. |
| Outlet Bar |
The multiple outlets that are divisions of the load segment. An Outlet Bar has no tracking or controls; you must create it manually and add it to the power topology. |
| HPE iPDU Outlet Bar |
All of the outputs of the iPDU that the appliance can track and control down to the outlet level. The appliance automatically discovers iPDU Outlet Bars. |
| Outlet |
A circuit with one input and one output that the appliance can track. An Outlet has no tracking or controls; you must create it manually and add it to the power topology. |
| HPE iPDU Outlet |
A circuit with one input and one output that the appliance can track and control. The appliance automatically discovers iPDU Outlets. If you connect it to a device that supports HPE Power Discovery Services, the appliance also discovers the connection to the attached device. |
