Logical Interconnect Groups screen details

If no resources are listed, you must add a resource. See Create a logical interconnect group.

The following views are unique to the Logical Interconnect Groups screen and are described on this page:

The remainder of the Logical Interconnect Groups views are also reported on the Logical Interconnects screen. The information for these views are on the Logical Interconnects screen details page.

Logical Interconnect Group

Screen component Description
Graphical configuration of the logical interconnect group

The display of the logical interconnect group relationships includes uplink sets, networks, uplink ports, and physical interconnects. The same relationships are shown on the Logical Interconnects screen.

From this view, you can perform the following actions:

Each interconnect name is a link to the Interconnects screen for more information. Additionally, this view displays the interconnect state, and the expected and actual model of interconnect.

Numbered tabs from the interconnects indicate the bay slot where the interconnect is located within the enclosure.

General

Screen component Description
Used by

Lists the following items:

  • The name of the enclosure groups associated with this logical interconnect group. The names link to the Enclosure Groups screen.

  • The name of the logical interconnects created from this logical interconnect group. The names link to the Logical Interconnects screen.

Create Logical Interconnect Group

Name

Enter a unique name for the logical interconnect group

Interconnect type

Select the interconnect type for this logical interconnect group

The interconnect type determines the configuration of interconnect choices and bay locations.

Select interconnects

Select the interconnects for the logical interconnect group. See Logical interconnect group requirements for more information.

Uplink Sets

Screen component Description
Uplink set name
Name Description
Connection mode

(Ethernet only)

Connection mode for the uplink set.

Automatic

The uplinks determine the active path.

Failover

The standby uplink to be used in case of connectivity loss in the preferred uplink. This uplink becomes the new active network path.

LACP timer

(Ethernet with automatic connection mode only)

The frequency of exchange of Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) control messages between devices in a Link Aggregation Group (LAG).

Short (1s)

Every 1 second with a 3 second timeout

Long (30s)

Every 30 seconds with a 90 second timeout

See Manage the frequency of control messages through the LACP timer for more information.

Network

(Fibre Channel networks only)

The name of the network assigned to this uplink set, followed by the connection type: Fabric attach or Direct attach.

The network name is a hyperlink to an overview of the network on the Networks screen

Networks

(Ethernet or FCoE networks only)

The number of Ethernet or FCoE networks assigned to this uplink set, followed by the network names and VLAN IDs. Add FCoE networks to uplink sets with FCoE capable ports that are all on the same interconnect.

Each network name is a hyperlink to an overview of the networks on the Networks screen.

Login redistribution

(Fibre Channel networks only)

The login redistribution type: Auto or Manual.

Speed

(Fibre Channel networks only)

The configured port speed for Fibre Channel uplink ports. The available discrete values are based on the adapter and the Fibre Channel interconnect.

Uplinks

The bay and port numbers associated with the network.

Preferred appears if the port is set as the active port to carry traffic in the uplink set during a failover.

[NOTE: ]

NOTE: Uplinks are not available for third-party devices (such as Cisco Fabric Extender for HPE BladeSystem modules) that are not being managed by HPE OneView appliance.
