Downgrade firmware

You can downgrade appliance firmware to an older version, if the newer firmware is known to cause a problem in your environment.
[CAUTION: ]

CAUTION:

  • Downgrading to firmware that is not supported on the hardware can cause the hardware to cease operation.

  • Forcing a firmware downgrade might leave the server unstable.

  • For example, if the Firmware is downgraded to a previous version that does not use updated Rich Infrastructure Specification (RIS), the communication between interconnect module and HPE OneView will break.

Prerequisites 

  • Required privileges: Server administrator

  • At least one supported SPP (Service Pack for ProLiant)

Downgrading the firmware

  1. From the main menu, select one of the following:

    • Logical Enclosure

    • Logical Interconnects

    • Server Profiles

    • Server Profile Templates

  2. In the master pane, select the logical enclosure or logical interconnects for which you want to downgrade the firmware bundle and then select Actions→Update firmware.

  3. Optional. Select a server profile or server profile template in the master pane, and then select Actions→Edit, if you are changing a server profile or server profile template.

  4. Enter the data requested on the screen. For more information, see

  5. Select Force installation.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Verify that the contents of the firmware bundle are displayed in the appropriate resource details pane.
