Claim a c7000 enclosure currently being managed by another management system

If an enclosure is claimed by another management system, you can forcibly add the enclosure to HPE OneView. If the enclosure is managed by VCM or VCEM, you might be able to migrate the enclosure into HPE OneView instead, which saves the configuration information. See About migrating c7000 enclosures managed by other management systems for more information.

[IMPORTANT: ]

IMPORTANT:

  • Forcibly adding an enclosure removes all current configuration settings. See Add a c7000 enclosure to learn more about enclosure configuration.

  • If the enclosure is managed by another HPE OneView appliance and you want to keep the configuration, remove it from the other appliance before adding it into a new instance. To remove an enclosure, see Remove a c7000 enclosure from HPE OneView management. If you remove the enclosure first, you do not have to forcibly add it to the new instance of HPE OneView.

  • If you forcibly add an enclosure managed by another HPE OneView appliance, it is added with all the configuration settings removed and the original HPE OneView appliance can no longer communicate with the enclosure.
