Server Hardware screen details

Overview

Utilization panel

The appliance gathers utilization data on various metrics and displays them in the Utilization panel and the Utilization screen

If your server hardware has an iLO advance license, the appliance collects data on the following metrics:

  • CPU utilization

  • Power consumption (Average, Peak, and Power cap)

  • Temperature

In the Utilization panel, the utilization meters depict the portion of the available capacity of the metric utilized during the most recent five-minute data collection period.

Hover your pointer over a meter to see a graph of the metric over the last 24 hours.

Click a meter to go to the Utilization screen to view utilization graphs.

[NOTE: ]

NOTE: There are some cases where the Utilization panel does not display utilization data. Data is only collected when the server is powered on. See About the Utilization panel for more information.

Activities panel

The activities panel shows the three most recent alerts and tasks, in order of severity. You can click any of the severity icons to view alerts for server hardware with that severity. Click More to view all server hardware activities.

Add Server Hardware

Rack servers are the only type of server hardware added via the Server Hardware screen. To add a server blade, see Add server hardware to managed enclosures.

[IMPORTANT: ]

IMPORTANT: Forcibly adding a rack server that is managed by another appliance for monitoring will make it inaccessible to the other management system.

iLO IP address or host name

iLO IP address or host name of the rack server's iLO management processor.

The imported rack server is named using the iLO subsystem name.

Add server hardware as

Select whether you want to manage or monitor the rack server.

Managed

You can apply configurations, deploy server profiles, analyze operation status, collect statistics, and alert users to specific conditions.

Monitored

You can view hardware for inventory and status information only.

[NOTE: ]

NOTE: The HPE OneView Standard license is automatically selected.

User name

iLO login name of an account with administer user accounts privilege

Default value:

Licensing

Select a license type for the server hardware. Server license types are dictated by the license policy of the enclosure that contains them. If the server hardware has an embedded license, the appliance applies that license to it, regardless of the license type you choose or the license policy of the enclosure in which it resides. See About licensing and About rack mount server licensing to learn more.

OneView

Contains both a OneView license and an iLO Advanced license.

Applies a OneView and a permanent iLO Advanced license to the server hardware.

OneView w/o iLO

Contains only a OneView license.

Applies a OneView license to the server hardware.

To apply an existing iLO license, you have to add the license on the server hardware iLO which is not a part of a .OneView license
