When you replace an enclosure OA and midplane, most of the steps that you need to perform are done without using the appliance REST APIs. Before you replace the OA, back up the configuration settings. You will use these configuration settings to reconfigure the new OA.
To physically replace the OA and midplane, and prepare the enclosure for operational status, follow the prerequisites and refer to the service guide for your enclosure to complete the replacement.
After you physically replace and reconfigure the OA and midplane, you must perform a refresh on the enclosure using a REST API.
Prerequisites

Minimum required session ID privileges: Infrastructure administrator.

The enclosure Onboard Administrator (OA) user name and password.

Physically replace the enclosure OA and midplane using the service guide instructions for your enclosure.

Reconfigure the new OA to match the settings the OA that you are replacing.
