Change a logical switch operational mode

A logical switch operating in one operation mode can be changed to another mode.

  • When changing a logical switch from operational mode monitored to managed, you might be required to reconfigure interconnects specified by the logical switch before the configurations are applied at the switches in the logical switch.

  • When changing the operational mode from operational mode managed to monitored, you are warned that existing configurations might no longer be operational, but they will not be removed from the logical switch. Any future configuration of the monitored logical switch must be performed outside of HPE OneView management. For FEX interconnects, server profile connections are marked as failed.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum required session ID privileges: Network administrator

Changing a logical switch operational mode using REST APIs

  1. Select a logical switch URI.

    GET /rest/logical-switches

  2. Change the operation mode of the logical switch using the URI from step 1.

    PUT /rest/logical-switches/{id}/
